【摘要】:AssumptionsofSolutionofCooperetal(1):Theheadchangeinthecontrolwellisinstantaneousattimet=0.Wellisoffinitediameterandfullypenetratestheaquifer.Flowinthenonleakyaquiferisradial.ImplicationsofAssumptions:Themathematicalequationsappliedignoreinertialeffectsandassumethewaterlevelreturnsthestaticlevelinanapproximateexponentialmanner.ThegeometricconfigurationofthewellandaquiferareshowninFig.1.Assumptionsareapplicabletoartesianorconfinedconditionsandfullypenetratingwells.However,thistestmethodiscommonlyappliedtopartiallypenetratingwellsandinunconfinedaquiferswhereitmayprovideestimatesofhydraulicconductivityfortheaquiferintervaladjacenttotheopenintervalofthewellifthehorizontalhydraulicconductivityissignificantlygreaterthantheverticalhydraulicconductivity.AspointedoutbyCooperetal(1)thedeterminationofstoragecoefficientbythistestmethodhasquestionablereliabilitybecauseofthesimilarshapeofthecurves,whereas,thedeterminationoftransmissivityisnotassensitivetochoosingthecorrectcurve.However,thecurveselectedshouldnotimplyastoragecoefficientunrealisticallylargeorsmall.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftransmissivityfromthemeasurementofforce-free(overdamped)responseofawell-aquifersystemtoasuddenchangeofwaterlevelinawell.Force-freeresponseofwaterlevelinawelltoasuddenchangeinwaterlevelischaracterizedbyrecoverytoinitialwaterlevelinanapproximateexponentialmannerwithnegligibleinertialeffects.1.2TheanalyticalprocedureinthistestmethodisusedinconjunctionwiththefieldprocedureinTestMethodD4044forcollectionoftestdata.1.3Limitations8212;Slugtestsareconsideredtoprovideanestimateoftransmissivity.Althoughtheassumptionsofthistestmethodprescribeafullypenetratingwell(awellopenthroughthefullthicknessoftheaquifer),theslugtestmethodiscommonlyconductedusingapartiallypenetratingwell.Suchapracticemaybeacceptableforapplicationunderconditionsinwhichtheaquiferisstratifiedandhorizontalhydraulicconductivityismuchgreaterthanverticalhydraulicconductivity.Insuchacasethetestwouldbeconsideredtoberepresentativeoftheaveragehydraulicconductivityoftheportionoftheaquiferadjacenttotheopenintervalofthewell.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
