【摘要】:Inmanyinstances,suchasinthegearsofasteamturbine,watercanbecomemixedwiththelubricant,andrustingofferrouspartscanoccur.Thistestindicateshowwellinhibitedmineraloilsaidinpreventingthistypeofrusting.Thistestmethodisalsousedfortestinghydraulicandcirculatingoils,includingheavier-than-waterfluids.Itisusedforspecificationofnewoilsandmonitoringofin-serviceoils.Note38212;ThistestmethodwasusedasabasisforTestMethodD3603.TestMethodD3603isusedtotesttheoilonseparatehorizontalandverticaltestrodsurfaces,andcanprovideamorediscriminatingevaluation.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheevaluationoftheabilityofinhibitedmineraloils,particularlysteam-turbineoils,toaidinpreventingtherustingofferrouspartsshouldwaterbecomemixedwiththeoil.Thistestmethodisalsousedfortestingotheroils,suchashydraulicoilsandcirculatingoils.Provisionismadeintheprocedurefortestingheavier-than-waterfluids.Note18212;Forsyntheticfluids,suchasphosphateestertypes,theplasticholderandbeakercovershouldbemadeofachemicallyresistantmaterial,suchaspolytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE).Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificwarningstatements,see6.4-6.6.
